内容提要:
Technologies have increasingly become an integral part of translation and interpreting, with introduction of technology units into the T&I curriculum. However, there seems to be a misconception of the term ‘technologies’, with many people equating them with SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource or Google Translate, and overlooking the fact that technologies are just one kind of resources. The talk will dispel the myth by examining the role that these resources play in translation and interpreting, and explore how they could collectively contribute to the learning process of translators and interpreters. It is language resources that should always be the focus of teaching and learning in T&I with technologies playing a secondary and auxiliary role.
